Volunteers

The real driving force behind Prodigal Son is our amazing team of committed supporters and volunteers, including Friends on the Out Mentors, some of whom are pictured here.

Staff

Supporting and coordinating our volunteer team are the Prodigal Son staff members:

South Wales Community Chaplain - John Stacy-Marks
John is an ordained Methodist minister and started the Amelia Trust Farm in 1991, combining his passions for the countryside and helping young people in need. He continues to help young people across South Wales as a Community Chaplain with Prodigal Son.

Southampton and Portsmouth Community Chaplain - James Nice
James loves Portsmouth FC and is ready to help anyone improve their lives by becoming a supporter, especially folk from Southampton. He gets a buzz from helping young men change their lives and chills out by going fishing – things he can sometimes combine in his role as a Community Chaplain!

Project Administrator - Clare Isbell
As well as keeping the Prodigal Son office ticking, Clare enjoys meeting people and travel adventures, especially in Africa. She is married to Paul.

Senior Chaplain - Nick Hay
Defying simple cliches, Nick is part Anglican clargyman and part curry-loving punk rock star! As founder of Prodigal Son and chair of trustees, he continues to get involved, innovating and inspiring. Nick is married to Lindsay and has recently been appointed as an Honarary Canon of Bristol Cathedral.

Patrons

Jonathan Aitken
Prodigal Son is honoured to have the well-known writer, broadcaster and prisons campaigner Jonathan Aitken as a patron.

The Right Revd Mike Hill Bishop of Bristol
The Rt Revd Mike Hill has been the Bishop of Bristol since 2003.

Bishop Mike was born in 1949 and brought up in Manchester and the north-west of England. He became a Christian at the age of 18 and was ordained when he was 28. He is married to Anthea and they have five adult children and two grandchildren. He loves sport and music: he is a lifelong fan of Manchester United and a keen guitarist.

Before becoming the Bishop of Bristol, Bishop Mike served in parish ministry for 14 years before becoming an Archdeacon and then Area Bishop in the Diocese of Oxford. He has a passion for mission and leadership in the Church and is known around the world for his teaching ministry. His wider responsibilities in the Church of England include being the Chair of the World Mission and Anglican Communion Panel.
